On Friday 17 June 2022 the seventh Wharfedale Ton took place. The event is a networking charity cycle raising funds for Marie Curie Cancer Care Hospice in Bradford. bdb have been a sponsor of this event for a number of years and this summer we were pleased to take along our biggest group of cyclists/friends of bdb thus far, hosted by Andrew.

Organised by the key sponsor, Gordons LLP, the 100 mile ride starts out from Ilkley Rugby Club and follows a scenic route through Wharfedale before crossing the finish line back in Ilkley.

The day itself was rather a warm one and there were certainly some rather red faced (how on brand), sweaty riders! Until this current heatwave, 17 June held the record for the hottest day of the year. I think you’ll agree it was a fantastic effort in the heat by all riders, but that didn’t stop some healthy sporting banter about who’s strava did or didn’t record 100 miles!

Sporting our very own jerseys, I think it is safe to say the bdb peloton looked great from the front…and the rear! Thanks to all those who joined us in raising funds for such a worthy cause.
