The BDB team learn a thing or two about each other
To start the year off well, the BDB team had a motivating day in Leeds finding out about where everyone’s personal strengths lie.
The day was carried out by Martyn Chappell and Katie Lovatt at Dimensional Fund Advisors (an organisation that you will all know of), who led multiple workshops throughout the afternoon.
The main aim of the day was to encourage us all to explore our top five strengths and to then communicate this with the rest of the team. We discussed what we have found out about ourselves, and each other, and how we can put our strengths into practice alongside strengths of other members of the team, the aim being to make the team more effective.
By the end of the session we all had a better understating of how we can work better as a team and how we can use each other’s strengths to improve the high quality experience that our clients enjoy.
The day was then followed by a ‘relaxing’ evening of competitive 10 pin bowling and, with the group split into two, the challenge was on. Oliver impressed us all by scoring a top score of 189 which meant he took the lead in both of the BDB teams (by a considerable amount) and managed to work his way up the January High Scores leaderboard at Roxy Lanes, leaving with 1st Place! We then finished the evening with a Thai dinner at Chaophraya in Leeds.
Once again thank you to Martyn and Katie for such a stimulating and useful day!
