and the team gets bigger….
We are now in our 10th year, and some significant hirings and promotions in recent weeks are an indication of our ambitious plans for the next 10. We have strengthened the team to ensure that we maintain the highest possible service standards for our clients as more people recognise the value of our approach and engage us as Personal FD.
We have just appointed our first Non Executive Director to the Board of BDB. Kevin Walsh is Non Executive Chairman of Manx Telecom having been on the Board of KCOM until July last year. He has a wealth of knowledge built in a full career in senior roles and has agreed to join us immediately. We are delighted to have his experience and expertise to assist with our ambitious plans. Kevin will also join our ‘Client Board’, a group of existing clients who have agreed to meet twice a year to assist in improving the business with observations, ideas and feedback.
Matt Kiddle, a Chartered and Certified financial planner, joined BDB in 2012 and has recently been appointed Associate Director with responsibility for operations. Matt has been instrumental in the recent development of the business and in the recruitment of James Cunnington as a Trainee in 2013.
James graduated with an Economics degree from Birmingham University. Having made huge progress through his professional exams under Matt’s mentoring James is no longer a trainee and has been promoted to Paraplanner, reflecting his growing importance to the team and the company. James is intrinsic to the operation and provides increasing technical support to Matt.
As a consequence of James’ promotion Harriet Dennis has been employed in the role of trainee paraplanner. Harriet joins with A levels in Maths, Business, Economics and Accountancy and has passed a testing recruitment process. She joins the business at a busy time of expansion and we are anticipating her following in James’ footsteps and throwing herself into professional exams and personal development.
The team has been further strengthened by the appointment of Tracey Winterbottom as Executive Assistant to the Directors. A graduate of Surrey University and Chambray University in France Tracey has had an international career as a Personal and Executive assistant. We are sure that Andrew and Tim will benefit from more time to focus on clients and the business.
The management team are passionate about making a difference to people’s lives by getting the money in context and in its place, but equally passionate about ‘walking the walk’ by getting their own ‘work/life balance’ right too. Many of you will know that all three are busy outdoors when they are not in the business; Andrew loves the hills and mountains and recently qualified as a BASI snow skiing instructor (before he broke his leg skiing) Matt is an ultra-runner and mountaineer, recently completing the 100 mile South Downs Way in under 24 hours and Tim is an RFU rugby coach heading to coach children in Africa in 2016 with Bubhesi Pride Foundation, as well has having several international marathons under his belt.
