Our Story
The Firm
Brook-Dobson Brear was established in 2006 by Tim Brear and Andrew Brook-Dobson. We provide a comprehensive lifestyle financial planning service within the framework of a long-term relationship with our clients; this is akin to that of a Personal Finance Director.
We operate from contemporary offices in Harrogate very close to the Royal Horticultural Society’s garden at Harlow Carr (and of course Betty’s Tea Room) and work with clients across the UK who want to take advantage of this innovative approach.
Our mission is to help ensure that our client’s material success translates into true success. Why?
After working for a variety of well-known and reputable advisory firms, we became disenchanted with delivering conventional "financial advice" having noted clients' dissatisfaction and frustration with the lack of a joined-up service.
Furthermore, many of our clients were experiencing phenomenal material success, but were still not happy, dissatisfied or frustrated with other important aspects of their lives, for example, health & fitness or relationships. We wanted to help change this.
Together, we have set out to build a comprehensive offering that is entirely centred on the needs of our clients.
Having now successfully done this for a number of years we are absolutely convinced that this approach is the only right way for materially successful people to consider their money and their life!
This approach leads to far more successful and satisfying outcomes for clients as it balances financial and personal goals and aspirations, and (incidentally) it is far more rewarding for us to deliver as we can help influence positive improvements in our clients' quality of life.
